Angels of the Prairie Coteau – Jim Lewandowski at DDR Book, March 30

Date: March 30, 2019

Time: 2:00 pm

Angels of the Prairie Coteau – a historical fiction novel set amid the 1920’s rebirth of the Ku Klux Klan. During post World War I America, the country struggled to find its direction. Seeking common unity, the people resurrected one of its demons from the past and sought comfort and security under its false banner of religion and patriotism.

on actual events, the story begins with the murder of Fr. Arthur Belknap, a Catholic priest in the Black Hills of South Dakota, and ends across the state on a hilltop overlooking the small town of Webster, at a mutilating cross cut deep upon the Earth, that teared the eye of God. Forgotten horrors, forbidden love, and an intense, burning desire to escape the coteau. Whereas its original carvers have long since passed, the ominous Klan cross survives to this day, untouched by a century of countless unsuspecting motorists who have traveled US Highway 12, beneath its deceptive brow. Jim Lewandowski, a Watertown resident and Webster native, is the author of Road Hunter in the Land between the Rivers – A Soldier’s Story of the Iraq War, and also The Christmas Box – An Eerie Tale of the Perfect Gift.

Jim’s book signing for Angels of the Prairie Coteau will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 30th, at DDR Books located at 7 South Maple in Watertown, SD.
